Extending the Ultra Low Emissions Zone to All Islington

The Greens are calling on Islington Labour to join their Westminster colleagues in calling for extended ULEZ (Ultra Low Emissions Zone) http://islington.greenparty.org.uk/news/2014/04/03/greens-call-on-labour-to-join-their-westminster-colleagues-in-calls-for-an-extended-ulez/.

There are concerns that excluding all but the most recent diesel vehicles, and all petrol vehicles older than 12 years, would affect a sizable number of drivers. However, http://islington.greenparty.org.uk/news/2014/02/10/why-greens-want-the-ultra-low-emission-zone-to-include-the-whole-of-islington/ reckons the numbers are considerably lower than feared. Only a third of Islington residents even have access to a vehicle and many of the vehicles those residents drive would certainly meet the ULEZ criteria.

Given the damage caused by vehicle air pollution, this needs careful consideration.
